book created by Claude Anderson, the cartoonist featured in my
book, download it by clicking

In my book acknowledgements section, I give credit to a friend
of mine, Jack Miller, LASD (Retired), who is the webmaster of
www.fpk.homestead.com which honors all of the personnel who worked
the legenday Firestone Park Sheriff's station in South Central
Los Angeles. The website is truly remarkable. Jack offered to
feature one of the stories from my book each month and his creativeness
and talent has produced a great way to feature the stories. If
you are interested in reading one of the stories click
here or the Featured Story Link in the menu.

Book Reviews |
Kudos to you and Claude for being able to publish
your books based on incidents that occurred during your time in
law enforcement. I'm sure it is enjoyed by not only fellow officers,
but citizens alike. Good luck on your follow up book to be completed
by 2010.
Sincerely,
Joseph M. Arpaio

"When a cop is telling his story he has a
very straight face but when you read these stories you'll have
anything but a straight face."

“From a "Civilian's" view, this book
brings a warm and light side to law enforcement. Cops are just like
everyone else. Could not put it down without wanting to pick it
up and read more....great book!!"

“After 30 years in the business I thought I
had heard them all, then Harry comes out with this book. This riot
of a read owned my attention and made me laugh. These true stories
capture the essence of how funny and crazy a cops' world is. This
is the real deal – cop humor at its best!”

“…a collection of memories and stories
from the purest source: deputies and officers relating their own
experiences and the moments that carried them through. It's an engaging
glimpse into the humorous side of Southern California law enforcement.
The contributors are not professional writers. They're law enforcement
officers. These are the stories they tell themselves, related here
just as comfortably as if they were unwinding after shift. These
stories are an enjoyable read.”
Tim Long, San Diego Police Department, (Retired) |

“We’ve all heard that truth is stranger
than fiction. Harry Penny Jr.’s new book proves without
a doubt that the truth is funnier than fiction! This book is a
must read and nearly impossible to put down once you’ve
begun. An inside look at how officers maintain their sanity when
dealing with incidents that sometimes defy the imagination. Factual,
informative and humorous…a great combination and a great
read.”
